Bags and Footwear (3)

Footwear refers to the material or item that partially or wholly covers the foot. All footwear has soles and depending on the kind of footwear, the upper part might extend no higher than the ankle. Boots, however, are kinds of footwear that reach beyond the ankle.  The main function of footwear is to protect the feet from jagged or pointed objects, awkward uneven surfaces that might cause injury or wound the feet. They are also worn for hygienic purposes and they also serve as an accessory to one’s overall attire. No one recognizes when people started to put on shoes. The first foot coverings used in cold sections were most likely baglike wrappings made from animal fur. The first known footwear worn in hot environment consisted of sandals made of plant fibers or leather. The ancient Egyptians have put on footwear as early as 3700 B.C. so have the ancient Greeks and Romans. In China, people used footwear that had wooden soles and cloth shoes thousands of years ago.
